Announcing Some Badass Keynotes: Jeni Britton Bauer & Andy Shallal

 In news

We’re thrilled to announce the following inspirational business owners will be taking the stage at the 2015 GOODBusiness Summit, along with dozens of other successful entrepreneurs.

Jeni Britton Bauer, Founder of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
On stage for: True Confessions
In addition to ridiculously good ice cream, we think Jeni’s is great because they are a Certified B Corporation endorsed by the international nonprofit B Lab as a company that meets rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Using Direct Trade and Fair Trade ingredients, employing a diverse team of people, working with women- and minority-owned businesses—it’s all part of how Jeni’s operates and an important part of their company culture. From their headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, Jeni’s manages over 550 employees, 17 scoop shops across the country and more than 1,700 wholesale distribution points.
Andy Shallal, Owner and Proprietor of Busboys and Poets
On stage for: GOODGrowth – How to keep our soul as we grow, expand and change
Busboys and Poets is a community gathering place where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted…a space for art, culture and politics to intentionally collide. First established in 2005, Busboys and Poets was created by owner Anas “Andy” Shallal, an Iraqi-American artist, activist and restaurateur. After opening the flagship location at 14th and V Streets, NW (Washington, DC), the neighboring residents and the progressive community embraced Busboys, especially activists opposed to the Iraq War. Busboys and Poets is now located in four distinctive neighborhoods in the Washington Metropolitan area and is a community resource for artists, activists, writers, thinkers and dreamers.
Don’t miss Jeni and Andy at the GOODBusiness Summit on Thursday, August 27th.
