Charleston County Economic Development/ Director of Community Competitiveness
KK Sherrill is Charleston County’s new Director of Community Competitiveness, working with the Economic Development team to strengthen the county’s long-term economic competitiveness and expand access to opportunity. She leads strategic initiatives that address factors influencing business growth, talent attraction, and workforce participation, aligning economic development priorities with community programs. Her portfolio focuses on advancing solutions in quality-of-place enhancements, public transportation, workforce housing, access to dependent care, and workforce development.
Beyond her role, KK contributes to community-focused initiatives locally and internationally and mentors emerging leaders, reflecting her passion for serving people and creating opportunities for all. With a background in economics and analytics and more than 15 years of experience in economic development, she is dedicated to building partnerships that create lasting impact.
