Al has a wide spectrum of experience that laid the foundation for the formation of Plan’td Ecological Design. She has served in roles such as the Farm Manger for the University of South Carolina, Program Director for the Green Heart Project, General Manager for Punta Mona Center for Regenerative Design & Botanical Studies in Costa Rica, and as a consultant for a variety of companies, from CEA farming in Detroit to other ecological design companies like her own. Al received her Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science from University of South Carolina and her Masters Degree in Ecological Design from the Conway School. She has also completed her Permaculture Design Certification and a Permaculture Teacher Training to round out the technical and experiential components of her education. Plan’td offers educational workshops for all ages, ecological designs using native plants in the southeast bioregion, and permaculture design courses. In 2024, Al joined Robinson Design Engineers bringing both her background in business development and ecological design to contribute to the projects at RDE both in the lowcountry and in the mountains of western North Carolina.
